DCN-1 Exchange Unit at a Glance
|
|
Digital DCN-1 central exchange unit is designed to set up PA and intercom communication systems in industrial environment and transportation nodes as well as general alarm and warning systems. Up to 4 central exchange units can be combined into one system of 60 subscribers with non-blocked communication. For this purpose any types of wires and standard network equipment can be used.
Digital DCN-1 central exchange unit has all the necessary interfaces to be connected to ISDN, analogue telephones and public communication lines in operation.

Control Panel Buttons and Connectors:
PRG – concealed button for the exchange unit software updating (Firmware);
RST – reset button;
TDM – 1-4 TDM-flows connectors (RJ-45), for the DCN-1 exchange unit connection;
COM1 – RS-232 interface for the connection of error monitoring and configuration management PC;
COM2 – RS-232 interface connector for the connection of PC used for software updating;
MMC/SD slot – used for MMC/SD cards with 16 up to 512 MB capacity
MMC to Flash – configuration data download button (from MMC/SD card into the exchange unit EEPROM memory)
Flash to MMC – configuration data download button (from the exchange unit EEPROM memory onto a MMC/SD card). It is used to provide immediate saving of the exchange unit configuration being used.
DCN Exchange Unit Terminal Devices
DCN system allows for connection of digital and analogue subscribers' devices for simplex and duplex intercom and PA. Interfaceto the subscribers' devices connection is ISDN U (Uk). For acoustic data transmission both B-channels of subscriber's ISDN-interface are used which allows expanding the bandwidth between simplex intercom devices up to 6.8 kHz.
Each subscriber station has a digital slot and a set of bidirectional lines which can be used as principle/function keys or control relays. Type and functions implemented are determined on software installation.
PA amplifiers, load commutation inverters, outdoor general alarm and warning systems and other analogue devices are connected via the universal analogue subsystem module (ASM), which is connected to a subscriber's U-interface and functions as a signal converter.
Audio storage device (speech recording device) is also connected via the ASM and provides voice traffic recording for selected devices. The system including maximum 4 DCN-1 base units can have not more than 4 recording channels.
Power supply of subscribers is provided by U-interface power over ISDN circuit or via separate wires. In case of ISDN circuit, subscribers' fuses installed in DCN-1 central exchange unit are used. Additional power supply lines for subscribers' devices, amplifiers, signaling devices and others are connected with the help of universal subscribers' 8x1A fuses modules, attached to DIN rail in the cabinet together with 48-V power supply module.
